1) HAPPY GUY FAWKES DAY!

2) Thanks to

meilithian, Heroes has been added to my ever-growing list of fandoms. It is a wonderful, wonderful show. ~~But Zachary Quinto is still not hot.~~

3) NaNo word count: 7,840 / 50,000. Yay!

4) Yesterday I had an unusual lapse in self-control and went to great lengths to order the Hogfather TV movie from Amazon (.co.uk). It should be here in 6-10 days, and then I shall add it to my Christmas movie collection! (Which, right now, consists of Nightmare Before Christmas and...that's it. XD But soon there will be TWO of them. Yes.)

Ummm...

1) So, it's been a year since I posted anything. Wow. Anyway, I figured I should dust this journal off and get it working again, since I'm applying to college and will need to use this to keep in touch with people (probably. Or not. But whatever).

2) NaNoWriMo! It's my first year. I'm way psyched, and churning out words like a demon. (It helps that I'm racing my friends, who have all done NaNo before, so I have to really push myself to keep up with them. XD)

Word Count: 5,175 / 50, 000. YAY. (I tried to put in a word count meter, but the code didn't work. Bleh.)

3) My Early Decision application is being sent TODAY. *ulp*

Winter Vacation sucked. Anyway, moving on:

1) Doug Jones = coolest actor in the history of EVAR. Go look him up, then go see "Pan's Labyrinth." And then rent "Hellboy." DO EET.

2) OMG, why did no one tell me Ioan Gruffudd was in "Fantastic Four"??? That is so cool! BTW, I totally did not find that out while listening to an interview with Doug Jones. Who incidentally happens to be filming the sequel to "Fantastic Four." With Ioan Gruffudd.

3) I just met Placido Domingo. Yeah, that's right. You heard me. ...OMG PLACIDO DOMINGO!!! *squee!*

So, yeah. Life is groovy. Peace out, peeps. Oh, god. No one reads this journal. I have no friends. *sad cries*

Pirates 2 Special Features

I'm watching the Pirates documentary behind-the-scenes movie journal, and while it is ten kinds of awesome (there's a hilarious shot of Orlando wearing some sort of gyspy/cowboy outfit and chilling in an airport), there is something in it that disgusts me.

They did a lot of the filming in Dominica, a very lush, uncivilized (but not in a bad way-- I mean like there are barely any roads, no cities, etc.) island. And they were talking about how they had to build roads in this gorgeous place so that they could move their equipment around. And they're filming the process, and they've cut down like a million trees and poured cement everywhere and all this shit that just destroys all the reasons they chose to film in Dominica in the first place.

Disney, you may make good movies, but your ethics SUCK.

SQUEEEEEEEE.

Um. Anthony Rapp was at my school today. For an assembly. He talked about RENT and himself and life and stuff. And then he sang! "Seasons of Love." Admittedly a little less impressive and moving when only the harmony is sung, a cappella, but still. ANTHONY RAPP, people. Another part of my complicated puzzle of life is now complete.

I would have put a lot more exclamation points into this post, but I think I used them all up while ~~squeeing~~ talking to my friends about ~~Mark~~ ~~Anthony Rapp~~ the assembly.

Ugh.

I'm this close to failing French, which used to be my best subject. My SAT scores still haven't come. I've had a test and two essays in the past two days, and I've got another test on Friday. My dad is being pissy with me on the subject of two of the things previously listed, and he's been going through my emails to see what I'm up to because he thinks I'm hiding things from him.

As of now, life sucks. I'm going to go eat leftover Indian and watch Freakazoid in a pathetic attempt to cheer myself up.

Edit: Okay, now I can't find any full Freakazoid episodes on YouTube. Probably copyright issues again. Crap.

ETA: By "much bigger impact" I mean "OMGWTFBBQ." Because, the guy was like every kid's hero back in 2000. I know he was mine. And then I completely forgot he even existed somewhere between then and now, and now he's gone, it's like a piece of my childhood is dead.

All I can say is that all those "Crocodile Hunter" parodies won't be nearly as funny now.

Oh, look, another fangirly post. Joy.

I went to a Jasper Fforde booksigning last night! It was so majorly awesome. Really. And the friend I was with (shadowgirlvg) had brought, for some reason, a mini recording device, so we recorded the whole thing! Perhaps, if I have the time, I'll type up the transcript and post it.
